Allie's Angels Day 2003
Our second Allie's Angels Day was held in September, 2003,
and again was attended by hundreds of children and their
families. Our focus this time was the creation of
'Diagnosis Bags' to be given to children upon a diagnosis of
cancer. The children in attendance made special cards and
pictures and selected a healing angel to go inside each
bag. The children enjoyed air brush face painting, magic
shows, moon bounces, and games with prizes, and left knowing
that they made a difference in the life of a very sick child.
Diagnosis Bag: These bags are given to all children
diagnosed with cancer at several local hospitals, about 200 per
year. The response to these bags has been tremendous by
the children, their parents and the medical staff. Each
bag includes:
Medical Information Manager - a comprehensive organizer for all
the information a family is inundated with upon a new
diagnosis.
Scrapbook Kit - complete with scrapbook, stickers, scrapbook
pen, photo tape and disposable camera.
