Holiday Gift Cart
 We created a
gift cart for seriously ill children who
must spend the holidays in the hospital or who are too sick to
shop for gifts. This cart
enables the children to shop (at no cost to them) for gifts for
their families. The cart is stocked with many items that a
child might choose to give to his/her family members.
We brought the gift cart to several hospitals a few days before
Christmas, and allow the children to 'shop for free' and select
special things for their families. We wrapped the gifts
and left them with each child. Over 30 children participated in
our Gift Cart program this year choosing great presents for
their families and a special goodie for themselves!
Our hope is to give these children a sense of control and
power at a time when they may feel like they have none.
